Ugh. Getting over probably the worst stomach bug I’ve ever had. Not going to talk about it much. But, again (as I think I mention every time on my blog when I’ve been sick), I remember how sometimes it does suck having no one to take care of you when you feel to weak to do anything. But I managed.
I guess it helps that I don’t have much to burden me at the moment, so I can stay calm while I recover. But I also had help from watching “A Bit of Fry and Laurie”, a schetch-comedy with Steven Fry and Hugh Laurie. Laughter does help, and these guys are funny.
Also been listening to the radio. I’m always hot and cold with the radio, because I eventually get tired of hearing the same songs over and over. But I guess when you’re by yourself it’s nice to have something on. Plus, like, music is thereputic, too.
The station I’ve kept it on is 103.7 The Mountain. I’ve liked this station for quite a few years now because it’s pretty mellow, plays a lot of artists that I’d usually have to listen to on two different stations, plus other artists that I don’t hear on other stations…and they all blend well together.
A lot of songs/artists I like, but one of my favorites has been Jack Johnson’s “If I Had Eyes”. There’s this line in the song that goes:
“Sometimes time doesn't heal
No not at all
Just stands still
While we fall”
That caught my attention. Looking at the rest of the lyrics puts it in context better, and...well, I’ll put them up in the next post, like, immediately following this one.
Anyway, I’m feeling better now. I’ll just keep resting, and perhaps have time later to study for my biology test.
