Don’t believe everything you think.

I saw this on a magnet. I liked it so I thought I’d put it up.

On the record…

Ok, this is kind of a progress report of the past two weeks. I did my biology content test last weekend. It was, um…well, it was quite difficult, but it seemed about right for what you’d expect a biology teacher to know. I will need to take it again, but I’m glad to have had a run-through so I know what to expect next time. And, actually, it was fun to work though the problems, questions, scenarios and think in scientific terms again. I’m looking forward to studying more and taking it again.

This week I got signed up to take a CPR/First Aid course. This is also one of the requirements to become a certified teacher.

And…yesterday, I got my fingerprints taken and had them sent to the Superintendent of Public Instruction so they can do a background check with the FBI. So much for my plans of a life-altering…um, life.

So, yeah. There’s my report. I’ve taken it easy this weekend. Tomorrow I’ll start working on getting the biology test rescheduled. It’ll be a bit more of a process this time as I’ll need to ask for extra time on the test.

Also going to continue working on my teaching program application.

But that’s it for now.

If I were a Supervillain...

So I'm putting this back up...only this time I didn't turn up as Dr. Doom. Not sure this is an improvment.

Again, I had a stronger correlation with my superhero personality (click here to see).

Update

I um…ok, well first, Happy New Year…and I guess I never said Merry Christmas.

I went to Virginia over the Christmas…um, break. Not that I’ve been doing anything to take a break from. But it was still a nice (and much needed) break. Got to see my parents and visit a lot with my cousin. Also went up to DC to see my sister. So, yeah, it was good. Well, here, I'll put some DC pictures up.

New Years Eve, went up to Redmond (back here in Washington) and hung out with old friends. Also nice :)

In recent news, I took the first of the three tests to be admitted into the teaching program. This was the basic skills test with a reading, writing, and math section. Unfortunately, I didn’t complete the math in the time allotted. But that’s ok. I can take it again in March (just the math section. I’m certain I passed the reading and writing).

But still, feels good to get the reading and writing out of the way. This Saturday, I’ve got the biology test (for my endorsement in that subject). So, I’m studying like a mofo this week.

And at some point within the next 4 months, I’ll take the GRE. So just chipping away at this.

That’s all for now.
